Here at The Burrard, we’re always excited to team up to support our interesting neighbours. So we’re thrilled to host a short-and-sweet exhibition of miniature works with local artists’ collective, Phantoms in the Front Yard on Friday, April 25. Called “Everyone I’ve Never Known,” the show asks questions like, “Where do we know others, or not know them? In our fantasies? Our memories? How are we impacted by people we have never met?” It’s no coincidence that these are questions we ask ourselves all the time in a hotel!
So come down and pay us a visit on April 25 in the courtyard from noon till 8pm, or join us for a reception in our coffee shop/bar, Betty from 6pm to 8:30pm that evening. But in the meantime, we’re also teaming up with the group on a contest where you could win one of the works, along with a two night stay in one of our updated, retro hotel rooms. You can enter via Instagram or Twitter – just check out the Phantoms’ website for details.
Have you seen this lady? Betty’s hiding out in The Burrard’s second-floor Courtyard oasis, which is exactly where you should also be hiding out this summer!
Come by and snap a photo of you and Betty, and you could win a couple of rounds of drinks for you and seven of your closest friends in Vancouver’s coolest courtyard. To enter, follow @BettyatBurrard on Twitter, then tweet your photo using the hashtag #HiddenBetty. We’ll randomly select one winner from all entries received by the closing date. The Burrard Hotel is at 1100 Burrard Street in Vancouver, and our courtyard is open to the public from 8am – 9pm each day. Stop by Betty – our licensed cafe and bar, and enjoy coffee, snacks, wine and beer in Vancouver’s secret oasis.
V.I.P Check-In at The Burrard
Not too long ago we took a dive into The Burrard Hotel for one fun one to raise some moola for a great cause, Safe Amplification Site Society (non-profit dedicated to music for all ages). Mix a night of drinks with friends with a sweet setting, some tasty food (c/o Memphis Grill), local shops The Hunted Few & TODAY, one of my faves DJ Eric Carver and headlined by Peak Performance Project top 20 bands BESTiE and The Lion The Bear The Fox and you have one killer night! All taken place in the courtyard of The Burrard Hotel on a summer eve. Keep your eye out for new BC BuzZ episodes with both bands as well you should head down to the hotel each Friday from 4-8pm for “Check-In Fridays” for some sun, drinks, music & more!
