The Burrard to be transformed for one-night fundraiser in celebration of skateboarding, music, arts and culture

Skateboard ramp, deejays, art installations, food, live music—this ain’t California, but it sure will feel like it when an abundance of local talent comes together amidst the palm trees at The Burrard for this one-night festival of fun.

The Jamcouver Cultural Society’s “Ramp-Up” to their flagship skateboarding competition will take place inside Vancouver’s trendiest downtown hotel. Color Magazine and Skullcandy are inviting the public to a staycation on Saturday June 15th, as they commandeer 3 floors and 24 rooms transformed by artists—both visual and sound— creating a unique interactive experience for hundreds of partygoers.

Every room at The Burrard faces into a luxurious outdoor courtyard, where attendees will grab a drink, enjoy catered food courtesy of Nuba, and mingle amidst the sounds of headlining performers HUMANS plus other local bands and deejays. For even more entertainment, attendees can peer into the lower level garage party, feasting their eyes on a skateboard exhibition happening with the help of Red Bull D.I.Y.

This unforgettable party will be the official kick-off to summer and serve as an introduction to the newly founded non-profit, Jamcouver Cultural Society, giving the community a glimpse at the programming they are now offering the City of Vancouver. JCS is hoping to raise funds with the hotel takeover party to put towards their flagship event —“Jamcouver 2013”— taking place August 3rd.

Pre-sale tickets for the Hotel Takeover are now available online including All-Access VIP rooms (1-night stay +bottle-service) up for grabs. Visit the following URL for a complete listing of performers and stay tuned for more information on exhibiting artists.
