We’re introducing a new package at The Burrard, in recognition of our plum position right on the edge of Vancouver’s gay-centric Davie Village. We’re firm believers that Pride is something that should be celebrated all year-round, with good times, a few drinks, the end of sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination, and a comfortable bed. So we’re calling the package “We’ve got PRIDE every day of the year.”
Make your home-base in one of The Burrard’s well-appointed modern rooms, located right on the edge of Vancouver’s Davie Village. Spend your day shopping the shops, seeing the sites, maybe even pick out something nice for yourself. Get ready for a night on the town, then head downstairs to our in-house café bar, Betty, to get the party started with a pre-dinner glass of bubbles. We’ll leave the next bit up to you, but we’ll throw in VIP access to Celebrities nightclub to keep the evening going. The next morning, head back down to Betty for our Hung-Over breakfast to help you rally. This package starts at $199 based on double occupancy.

The weather in Vancouver might be a bit grey at this time of year, but we think that’s a great excuse to have some fun indoors with these picks. While we might be heading into the season of reindeer sweaters, creepy wooden soldiers, and fruitcake, Vancouver also has plenty to keep you busy if you’re still in tinsel-denial for a few more weeks.
Foncie Pulice was Vancouver’s most prolific street photographer, shooting around 15 million images in the 40 years he worked Granville and Hastings streets up until his retirement in 1979. The amazing thing about these photos is how proud and confident everyone looks. And of course, we’re crazy about the super-slick outfits!

“RED OBSESSION” MOVIE PREMIERE PLUS WINE TASTING
A critically-acclaimed documentary narrated by Russell Crowe AND we get a VIP wine tasting before the show? Uh, yes please! The Rio Theatre is one of our favourite places to mix movies and good times, and the premiere of wine documentary “Red Obsession” should be no exception. Along with the film, enjoy wines from top British Columbia producers such as Summerhill, Okanagan Crush Pad and Bella.

THE SANTALAND DIARIES
We don’t think that going to see The Santaland Diaries really qualifies as a holiday activity because we’d go and see a play based on David Sedaris’ writing any day of the year! Based on a piece Sedaris wrote for NPR in the early 1990s, it follows his professional climb through the ranks of Macy’s Holiday elves including stints as Vomit Corner Elf, Water Cooler Elf and Cash Register Elf.

GOT CRAFT? HOLIDAY EDITION
OK, we lied a bit – this is one that you have to be in the holiday spirit for, but we promise it’s worth it! If you’re going to go to one craft market this Christmas, make it Got Craft? Unlike other events that are packed to the gills with macramé door sausages and seashell-adorned photo frames, Got Craft boasts some of Vancouver’s coolest designers of jewellery, fashion, housewares, stationery and toys. Wine and beer are available on the Saturday, and there are even DIY workshops to seduce your inner-crafter.
