Where is The Burrard?

If you’re not familiar with Vancouver and the layout of our city, it can be hard to work out just exactly where your hotel is, and how close it is to the attractions, venues, restaurants and neighbourhoods that you want to explore while you’re in our city. Luckily, if you’re staying at The Burrard, you’ll enjoy our very central location in downtown Vancouver, just a short walk or drive from everything you want to do!
If you’re visiting Vancouver to eat and shop your way through the city, you’ll love The Burrard’s location right on the edge of both the West End and Yaletown neighbourhoods – you can be in either in less than 5 minutes. The Robson and Alberni shopping precincts are also about 5 minutes away, and Gastown is a 20 minute walk. A bit further afield, a 10-minute drive will take you to the Chinatown, Granville Island, South Granville and Kitsilano neighbourhoods, with Mount Pleasant just a couple more minutes away by car.
If you’re in the city for a Canucks game, Whitecaps match, or a stadium concert, The Burrard is only a 20-minute walk from both BC Place and Rogers Arena. Other performance venues are even closer, including the Vogue Theatre (5 mins), The Orpheum (10 mins), The Commodore Ballroom (10 mins), and Queen Elizabeth Theatre (15 mins). A little further away, a 20-minute walk will get you to Bard on the Beach in Vanier Park.
If you’re in Vancouver for business, a 15-minute walk straight down Burrard Street will take you to the Vancouver Convention Centre, through the heart of the city’s financial district. UBC’s Robson Square campus is a 5-minute walk from The Burrard, and both the Morris J. Wosk Centre and SFU Harbour Centre campus are a 20-minute walk.
You can easily get to Stanley Park (including the Vancouver Aquarium and the totem poles) from The Burrard – it’s a 20-minute walk, or borrow one of our cruiser bikes and you can be there in 7 minutes! A 10-minute walk will get you onto the seawall – you can choose to head north to English Bay or south along the north side of False Creek.
Lots of other attractions are also within walking distance from The Burrard including the Vancouver Art Gallery (7 mins), FlyOver Canada at Canada Place (20 mins), and Harbour Centre Lookout (20 mins), as well as the Museum of Vancouver, H.R. MacMillan Space Centre and Vancouver Maritime Museum – all a 20-minute walk away in Vanier Park.
Finally, if you’re coming to Vancouver for medical reasons, or to visit someone who is in hospital, we’re located right across the street from St. Paul’s Hospital, and a couple of doors away from both the Burrard Medical Building and the Burrard Health Centre. We also offer special rates for medical stays.
Is there something else that you’re hoping to do while you’re in Vancouver, but you’re not sure if we’re close enough? We’re happy to answer your questions via phone, email or Messenger!
