TACOFINO BURRITO BAR
1025 Mainland Street – Yaletown, 778.379.8226
tacofino.com
Distance: 10-minute walk
Price: burritos ~ $18
Open for both lunch and dinner, this spot might not be the most traditional Mexican joint, but it’s cool as heck. The menu is legendarily delicious with a Baja bent to it. Make sure you finish with a chocolate “diablo” cookie. They have a bunch of other locations and roaming trucks too.

SALSA & AGAVE
1205 Pacific Boulevard – Yaletown, 604.408.4228
salsaandagave.com
Distance: 15-minute walk
Price: tacos ~ $4.50, mains ~ $20
This super-casual family-run spot is amazing value and very friendly. As much as we love sitting at a sidewalk table with a margarita, we also love taking a serving of house-made chips and their tasty guac over to the park for an impromptu picnic.

LUCKY TACO
1685 Yew Street – Kitsilano, 604.739.4677
luckytaco.ca
Distance: 30-minute walk, 5-minute drive
Price: tacos ~ $8
A short walk from Kitsilano Beach, Lucky Taco takes its cues from the little taco stands you find on any Mexican beach. Lots of fresh flavours wrapped in a tortilla and a fun drink list ensure the good times keep coming.

OPHELIA
165 West Second Avenue – Olympic Village, 604.800.5253
opheliakitchen.ca
Distance: 35-minute walk, 10-minute drive
Price: Appetizers ~$20, mains ~ $30 – $44
Sure, Ophelia does offer tacos (very nice tacos), but you’re not coming here for those. You’re dining at Ophelia for the beautifully rendered dishes that bring together the flavours of Mexico with local ingredients.

TAMALY SHOP
2525 Main Street – Mount Pleasant, 604.336.9219
tamaly-shop.com/menu
Distance: 20-minute drive
Price: tamales ~ $8, 3 tacos ~ $18
Right at the corner of Main and Broadway, step inside the Tamaly Shop and you’ll feel like you’ve stumbled into Mexico. Along with the namesake tamales, the all-day brunch menu is a hit, as are the range of both local and imported Mexican groceries.
