Introducing Non-Alcoholic Nightcaps at The Burrard

Hotel guests at The Burrard in Vancouver can now choose to keep their evening going a little longer without keeping their buzz going. We’ve introduced a complimentary Non-Alcoholic Nightcap program, inviting guests to grab a locally-made non-alcoholic cocktail or beer to wrap their evening on a smart, safe and hydrating note.
From 7 pm to 10 pm each night, guests staying at The Burrard can grab a booze-free beverage in the lobby and either enjoy it there, by the fire-pit in our palm-filled courtyard, or take it back to their room. We’re highlighting two local Vancouver companies with our drink selections, serving Nonny Beer’s Czech Pilsener, Lime Gose and Pale Ale, as well as the Mule, Collins, Mojito and Paloma from Edna’s Non-Alcoholic Cocktail Company. Of course, those just starting their evening at 10 pm are also welcome to kick-off their night out with a zero-proof beverage.
“Whether our guests are avoiding alcohol altogether or are just looking to make their last drink of the evening a lighter affair, we want to offer something that will make their night better and their morning easier,” says Darren Simpson, general manager of The Burrard. “There are a lot of people who are interested in exploring non-alcoholic options, and we’re proud to be able to spotlight some great Vancouver-made drinks in the process.”
In recent years, sober travel—also known as “dry tripping”—has grown in popularity along with the number of people who are both abstaining from alcohol or cutting back on how much they drink. And it’s much more than just jumping on the wagon during Dry January or Sober October. According to a report by Expedia, 40% of survey respondents say they would be interested in booking a detox trip in the next year, and 25% say they want to drink less during their vacation to stay in control and feel better emotionally and physically.
