The days are getting longer and a sun-filled June is offering up plenty of events around the city to make the most of the epic days ahead. From sports and theatre to cultural festivals and live music, there’s a lot going on. Here are four of our top things to do in Vancouver this June.

Cory Weeds_Vancouver International Jazz Festival

36th TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival
June 24 – July 3
The perennially-popular TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival returns to the city showcasing legends like Buddy Guy, but also featuring budding turntablists, all under the broad umbrella of jazz. Catch a free show by Terminal Station at Granville Island, or get all dolled up to see Lucinda Williams at Queen Elizabeth Theatre. A little something for everyone.

Hamilton

Hamilton
Through June 19
The record-breaking critical and popular success of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton finally makes its way to Vancouver, and we can be sure each night will play to a packed house. Per the producers, “Hamilton is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, Hamilton has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre”. In other words, this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity.

Japan Market Summer Festival

Japan Market Summer Festival 2022
June 11 – 12
Stroll down to the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza to take in the Japan Market Summer Festival, celebrating the many elements of Japanese culture in Vancouver. Food trucks will include the city’s legendary Japadog, but leave room for tasty bites from the likes of Taco Nori Sushi Tacos and Teriyaki Express. Food stalls include faves from places like Kanadell Japanese Bakery, and Koyuki Sapporo Ramen, while a host of artisan jewellery, ceramics, and fabrics will be on offer as well.

Vancouver Canadians Baseball

Vancouver Canadians Games at Nat Bailey Stadium
June 1 – 5, 14 – 19, 28 – 30
The sun will be shining, the local craft beer will be flowing, and the hot dogs will be sizzling. It’s time to “play ball!” The family-friendly Vancouver Canadians baseball games at “the ‘Nat” are a quintessential summer experience here in Vancouver. Saturday night games feature fireworks, you can bet on a race between sushi-costumed mascots (like we said, it’s a very Vancouver experience), and there’s always plenty of good cheer to go around.
