Things to Do in Vancouver – June 2025
Wendy Underwood

A sun-filled June officially kicks off summer in our city, with plenty of events around Vancouver to make the most of the epic days ahead. Vancouver International Jazz Festival brings the city to life later in the month with plenty of live performances to keep your fingers snapping. And from cultural markets, to live theatre and festivals, there’s so much happening in our city. Here are four of our top things to do in Vancouver this June.

Richmond Night Market
Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights through October 13
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Richmond Night Market has been the place for summer evening hangs and highly Instagrammable food for a quarter century. This year, they’re introducing some new features: the world’s very first night market zipline, taking you 600 feet across the market, and all-night “happy hour” deals with food under $10 and drinks under $7 at every stall. Of course, you’ll also find your favourite midway games and a main stage with dance teams, musicians and martial arts displays. The market is just one block from the Bridgeport Skytrain station so getting there is super easy.

Bard On The Beach
June 10 – September 20
There are plenty of Shakespeare festivals around the world, but it’s quite possible Vancouver’s Bard on the Beach has the most jaw-dropping setting of all. Under the tents in Vanier Park, a stone’s throw from Kitsilano Beach, catch this year’s production of Much Ado About Nothing or The Two Gentlemen of Verona with a stunning seaside view of English Bay, downtown Vancouver, the North Shore mountains, and spectacular sunsets. This year, two productions will play in repertory: Bard’s debut of the The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again], and a new Canadian work, The Dark Lady.

Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival
June 20 – 22
Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival is a weekend of fun community celebrations, right on the waters of False Creek by Science World, and this year is bigger and better than ever! Kick off summer with this free, family-friendly event; in between the adrenaline-charged dragon boat races, enjoy performances on the Main Stage (headliners include Lights and Felix Cartal – check out the line-up here); Indigenous, Chinese and Pride cultural pavilions, a new Community Stage, food trucks and a marketplace.

National Indigenous Peoples’ Day
June 21
The summer solstice is also the day that we celebrate and recognize Canada’s Indigenous communities: their traditions, cultures and contributions. There are a few events happening around the city, including an afternoon-long celebration at Grandview Park on Commercial Drive, and the 3rd Annual National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration Block Party by the Carnegie Centre on edge of Gastown and Chinatown. At both, you can expect cultural performances, artisans and vendor booths that celebrate and uplift the Indigenous community.
