Things to Do in Vancouver – June 2026
Wendy Underwood
A sun-filled June officially kicks off summer in our city, with plenty of events around Vancouver to make the most of the epic days ahead. And this year, there’s a literal kick-off with the FIFA World Cup coming to town mid-month and running through until the beginning of July. Not only that, but Vancouver International Jazz Festival brings the city to life later in the month with plenty of live performances to keep your fingers snapping. And from cultural markets, to live theatre and festivals, there’s so much happening in our city. Here are four of our top things to do in Vancouver this June.

Richmond Night Market
Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights through September 20
As the largest night market in North America, the Richmond Night Market has been the place for summer evening hangs and highly Instagrammable food for more than a quarter century. Along with 500 food options, 100+ vendor stalls and live entertainment, you’ll find a zipline taking you 600 feet across the market, and all-night “happy hour” deals with food under $10 and drinks under $7 at every stall. Of course, you’ll also find your favourite midway games and a main stage with dance teams, musicians and martial arts displays. The market is just one block from the Bridgeport Skytrain station so getting there is super easy.

Bard On The Beach
June 9 – September 19
There are plenty of Shakespeare festivals around the world, but it’s quite possible Vancouver’s Bard on the Beach has the most jaw-dropping setting of all. Under the tents in Vanier Park, a stone’s throw from Kitsilano Beach, catch this year’s production of The Merry Wives of Windsor or MacBeth with a stunning seaside view of English Bay, downtown Vancouver, the North Shore mountains, and spectacular sunsets. This year, two productions will play in repertory, both contemporary adaptations or reinventions of Greek tragedies: Goblin:Oedipus, and Antigone.

Vancouver Game Garden
June 13 & 14
Located down at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown over a weekend in mid-June, Vancouver Game Garden showcases local video game developers to the general public. Stop by to find your new favourite game, chat with local creators, discover browse work by Vancouver artists, and drop by the Garden Shed for talks, panels and demos – all with free entry!

National Indigenous Peoples’ Day
June 21
The summer solstice is also the day that we celebrate and recognize Canada’s Indigenous communities: their traditions, cultures and contributions. There are a few events happening around the city, including the 4th Annual National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration Block Party by the Carnegie Centre on edge of Gastown and Chinatown. Other ways to recognize Indigenous culture and contributions in Vancouver include visiting the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art in downtown Vancouver, the Museum of Anthropology at UBC, or dining at Salmon n’ Bannock.
