Things to Do in Vancouver – March 2026
Wendy Underwood
March brings the first hints of spring to Vancouver. While the weather can still be brisk, you’ll notice cherry blossoms eagerly starting to bloom well before the end of the month. In fact, we’ll see the beginning of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations (including Celticfest), and spring break for the kids. With so many events packed into March, here are four top picks to make the most of your time in Vancouver this month.

Vancouver Cocktail Week
March 1 – 8
Now in its fifth year, Vancouver Cocktail Week continues to raise the bar (pun intended) on the fine libations being offered at drinking establishments around the city. The event has a truly awesome spread of events, from cocktail crawls and paired dinners to pop-up bars and guest appearances from out-of-town bartender royalty. For those looking to beef up their mixology education, seminars, masterclasses and tastings are offered throughout the week. But if you’re looking for something more casual, make sure to check out the 30 bars and restaurants offering drop-in Cinq à Sept happy hours each night.

BC Home + Garden Show
March 12 – 15
Get ready for spring with the BC Home + Garden Show at the Vancouver Convention Centre! Along with over 400 exhibitor booths on the show floor, there are two stages programmed with great presenters throughout the weekend. Catch TV favourites including Kortney Wilson from Life is Messy on the Main Stage, and Great Canadian Baking Show’s Bruno Feldeisen on the Cooking Stage. Along with the exhibitors, you’ll also find activation areas such as the Paddle and Play Zone, a DIY Training Centre, and a Garden Retail Market, all perfect to get you ready for the warmer weather.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations
March 13 – 17
They say that on St. Patrick’s Day, we’re all a little Irish. Put that to the test by checking out some of the many celebrations around Vancouver over mid-March. Kick things off with a traditional ceilidh (a party with music and dancing) on March 13. A lot of the bar-based action will also take place on the Friday and Saturday night, when you can take part in a St. Paddy’s Bar Crawl or commit to one favourite establishment (we love the Shamrock Storehouse on Denman and Foy’s in Mount Pleasant). Looking for a less boozy option? Then the St. Patrick’s Day 5K on Saturday, March 14 should fit the bill. If you’re a purist who will only celebrate on March 17, head down to The Blarney Stone in Gastown, where they’ll be open from 9 am until 2 am.

Monster Jam
March 27 – 29
If your enjoyment of entertainment is directly proportional to its volume, Monster Jam has you dialed! With four shows over the three days, this is one place where your spring-breaking kids can scream their lungs out and they won’t be the loudest thing in the room. Instead, it will be 12,000 lb trucks with names like Grave Digger and Megalodon responsible for the ruckus as they race, do donuts, and freestyle. Still not enough monster truck action for your little monsters? Add on the Pit Party VIP experience before the Saturday or Sunday matinee shows.
