Things to Do in Vancouver – September 2026

September 10 – 20
Just as with the past 42 years, Vancouver Fringe Festival is your opportunity to take a chance. Whether you’re getting tickets for an emerging artist you’ve never heard of, a show that pushes the boundaries, or maybe just the kind of performance that you wouldn’t ordinarily go for, the risk is mitigated by the fact that tickets start at just $16. This year, the festival includes 84 shows across 16 venues (both on and off Granville Island), including Kids Fringe performances and the free Fringe Patio music series, new for this year.

September 19 – 27
Highlighting both Vancouver’s own vibrant flamenco community as well as national and international talent, the Vancouver Flamenco Festival brings attention to this classical artform. Flamenco dancers, singers and guitarists perform throughout the week, starting with free outdoor shows on the Fringe Patio (see above). The festival also includes ticketed events—mainly on Granville Island—including live performances and productions, masterclasses and workshops.

September 24 – 27
More than just a tradeshow, the Interior Design Show – Vancouver is where you’ll find all of the cool design kids. A sister to Interior Design Show – Toronto, IDS Vancouver brings together interior designers, architects and other professionals, as well as design-savvy civilians. While only the pros are invited to the trade day seminars, the rest of us can roam the show floor on the Saturday and Sunday. September 29 – October 4
The Canada Super 60 cricket tournament is back for a second year, bringing together players from around the world. The six-day season at BC Place Stadium includes six men’s teams and two women’s teams. Catch short matches (around 90 minutes), where each team faces just 60 balls (10 overs, each with 6 balls). Each day brings multiple matches, with teams made up of both Canadian and international players, including some big names like Kieron Pollard, Jonny Bairstow and Nicholas Pooran.
