Upcoming Event: Vancouver International Jazz Festival, June 19 – July 5, 2026
Wendy Underwood
One of North America’s biggest jazz festivals, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival attracts an audience of around 100,000 music fans each year, with a line-up that spans traditional jazz, through soul, blues, R&B and electronic artists.
This year, the festival’s 41st edition, will be no different! The Marquee series has just been announced, with Keyon Harrold performing “Foreverland and Songs for Miles” and Isaiah Collier’s “Collier Plays Coltrane” both at the Vancouver Playhouse, as well as performances by the Tomoki Sanders Quartet with Todd Stewart Trio, The Ex with Grdina/Lillinger, and two performances of Brandon Woody’s Upendo.
We love that the Vancouver International Jazz Festival is truly accessible to everyone, with a mix of ticketed and free events. On June 27 and 28, you can catch free shows on two stages outside the Vancouver Art Gallery, and noon performances at the Bentall Centre Dunsmuir Patio on select dates. Head to Granville Island on Canada Day, July 1, for a full day of “free “Pay What You Can” (PWYC) concerts at Ocean Artworks. And in addition to these performances, there are also four free music workshops at Tom Lee Music downtown and numerous other PWYC shows around the city.
