Upcoming Event: Vancouver International Wine Festival, February 24 – March 3, 2024

Get ready to swirl, sniff and sip because the province’s biggest wine event is back! From February 24 through March 3, the Vancouver International Wine Festival will showcase wines from 149 producers from 12 countries at 33 events open to the public. This year’s feature country is Italy, with a whopping 71 Italian wineries participating in the 2024 festival.

Not only is this British Columbia’s biggest wine event, it’s also one of the largest in North America, and—celebrating its 45th anniversary—it’s also one of the oldest in the world. What makes VIWF different from many wine festivals is the overwhelming number of events that are open to the general public and not just industry buyers. The flagship events are the International Festival Tastings held on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights as well as a Saturday matinee session. All 149 wineries will be pouring, and along with the individual tables, you’ll find regional tasting stations for California, New Zealand and Italy.

But these grand tastings aren’t the only way to sample what’s on offer. For those who want to take a deeper dive, there are library tastings, seminars and master classes. Take a more relaxed approach with mingler events like the California Wines Sun Fest or the PICA Kitchen Party. Or indulge in a sit-down dinner that brings together wines from your favourite region or producer with courses from some of Vancouver’s best Italian restaurants including CinCin, Giardino, and Cioppino’s.
