Upcoming Event: New Year’s Eve in Vancouver
Wendy Underwood

We’re in the holiday season swing of things, and that means New Year’s Eve isn’t too far away! There are plenty of things to do when it comes to ringing in 2023, particularly if you’re looking to stray from the norm. This being Vancouver, there’s a little something for everyone, no matter what you’re looking for.

For body-slams and belly-laughs:
Good-natured folks from Vancouver’s comedy community and the city’s wrestling scene have joined forces to create action-packed storytelling events dubbed BOOM! Pro Wrestling. They’re putting on what should be another exciting, hilarious, family-friendly-ish night on the 31st, New Year’s Slammin’ Eve. Expect rollicking silliness, a party that goes until one in the morning, and $4 beers to boot!

For incredible eats:
The consistently-lauded, veggie-forward Acorn restaurant in Mount Pleasant has just received a coveted Michelin Guide recommendation, so you know tickets for New Year’s Eve Dinner at the Acorn are going to go fast. Promising a seven-course “sensational seasonal menu, superb drinks and spectacular vibes,” there will more than ample opportunity to raise a glass of something delicious to ring in the New Year.

For pangs of nostalgia:
There’s going to be quite the good-time dance party on at The American—their theme to ring in the New Year is Grease 2023! We always enjoy the atmosphere at this East Vancouver hotspot: less of a high-octane nightclub feel, it’s more of a craft beer, natural wine, and artisan burger kinda vibe. Those burgers, from cult-fave DownLow Burgers, will be on tap, as will “a sonic musical journey with one of the great American love stories with DJ Phil David playing the best in 50s, 60s, bop, rock, and party anthems.”

For the scene:
Countdown to midnight at a rocking party – with a twist. One of Vancouver’s most unique and playful event spaces, Science World, opens for the night for a 19+ party for the ages. The dress-to-impress event has the feel of a nightclub in a venue full of interactive science stations. There will be three rooms of music, six DJs and five bar areas. The iconic, waterfront landmark holds 1,100 people and overlooks Vancouver’s False Creek.
With our central downtown location, we’re a good choice for those celebrating in the city this New Year’s Eve! Visit our booking page for great rates.
