1066 Mainland Street – Yaletown, 604.423.4131
Distance: 10-minute walk
A real “dark wood” bar with not only an enticing list of cocktails and decent wine selection, but all the charcuterie and cheese boards (and delectable accompaniments) you could dream of.

54 Alexander Street – Gastown
Distance: 30-minute walk, 10-minute drive
A great spot for a glass of natty wine and a casual bite. The cool kids love the by-the-glass selection and the nibbles from a rotating roster of chefs, many of whom are known around the city for their pop-ups.

237 Union Street – Chinatown, 604.423.5400
Distance: 35-minute walk, 10-minute drive
Part of the same family as Michelin-starred Burdock & Co. further up Main Street, Bar Gobo is the wine bar sister in Chinatown that also manages to turn out an exemplary prix-fixe menu each night from a tiny, tiny kitchen.

209 East 6th Avenue – Mount Pleasant, 604.874.4687
Distance: 15-minute drive
Part of the same family as Michelin-starred Published further up Main Street, Bar Susu is the natural wine bar sister (are you sensing a trend?) that holds her own when it comes to snacks and beautifully created share plates in a charming heritage building.

201 East 7th Avenue – Mount Pleasant, 604-879-3100
Distance: 15-minute drive
Voted one of Canada’s best new restaurants by enRoute Magazine, this place will take you back to Spain as you grab a glass of wine, vermouth (on tap!) or a G&T, and load up on delectable small dishes.
