Things to Do in Vancouver: March 2020

March is a great time to visit Vancouver, whether you’re taking advantage of the kids’ spring break vacation, or just heading to the city for a well-deserved break! Along with big events like the Canada Rugby Sevens and the Vancouver Auto Show, you’ll find lots of other fun things to do here throughout the month of March.
Vancouver International Dance Festival
March 6 – 28
Highlighting contemporary dance forms, Vancouver International Dance Festival brings together dance fans through performances, workshops and other activities, both free and paid. This year’s line-up includes Ferenc Fehér from Hungary, and inDANCE from Toronto. Local talent Modus Operandi, Boogaloo Academy and Now or Never Crew are also on the bill, and are performing free shows at the Woodwards Atrium.
The Canucks: A Photo History of Vancouver’s Team
March 7 – 29
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Vancouver Canucks joining the National Hockey League, The Polygon contemporary art gallery in North Vancouver is mounting an exhibition looking back over the team’s decades of sporting history. Many of the photographs are by legendary Vancouver Sun sports photographer Ralph Bower, who was the first person to mount a remote-controlled camera in the net.
Playdome at BC Place
March 20 – 28
Just in time for spring break, Playdome is an inside carnival staged right in downtown Vancouver at BC Place. With over 45 rides and attractions for the whole family, this will definitely win you points with the kids! If all that fun leaves you with a rumbling tummy, there are plenty of fairground favourites to get you going again, and new this year is a relaxing garden space for recharging.
California Wine Fair
March 31
There’s only one thing better than drinking wine, and that’s drinking wine for a good cause! The annual California Wine Fair evening is a fundraiser for the Arts Club Theatre Company, and gives virtuous vino lovers the chance to try the 350+ wines on offer from regions including Napa Valley, Humboldt County, Santa Clara Valley and more.
